Support the efforts of Singapore’s first wildlife rescue center run by a non-profit and learn about local species and the illegal wildlife trade. Interns at ACRES will support daily animal care, including food preparation and distribution, cleaning and maintenance of enclosures, enrichment activities, and educational outreach. Interns with prior experience may also be able to support rescue operations and volunteer vet care.

Interns will gain hands-on experience working with animals at one of the parks run by Wildlife Reserves Singapore (Jurong Bird Park, Night Safari, River Safari, Singapore Zoo). This wildlife rescue site focuses on the care, rehabilitation and study of Costa Rican wildlife, including sloths, toucans, macaws, owls, monkeys, and other creatures that become injured, ill, or orphaned in the wild. The site gives them a loving home with the goal of providing appropriate medical treatment, rehabilitation and then – when possible – returning them to their natural environments. Interns at this site will assist with daily animal care and clinical activities.

Located in southern Brazil’s on Santa Catarina Island, this NGO hosts interns interested in animal husbandry, ecotourism, and fieldwork related to the conservation of the neotropical otter and its ecology. Interns support otters in captivity by assisting with feeding, handling, environmental enrichment and behavioral studies, as well as in their natural habitats by observing and collecting data on hiking and kayaking excursions.
