The IE3 Global exchange program at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) provides students from any of the IE3 Global partner universities the opportunity to study advanced levels of Spanish or courses from many other fields in the highest ranked university in the country. Students with sufficient language skills may enroll in regular university courses with Ecuadorian students, taught entirely in Spanish.

At the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), students with two or more years of college-level Spanish may focus on Spanish language and culture as well as take regular university coursework with Ecuadorian students. Students are able to participate for one semester or for a full academic year. Coursework is available in the Social Sciences, Sciences and Humanities, Business, Culinary Arts and Hospitality, Public Health, Digital Arts and many other fields. A dynamic institution, USFQ has garnered a reputation for academic quality, innovation, and a diverse and rigorous curriculum. Students in a wide variety of disciplines will likely find coursework to fit their interests and degree plans.
This program is open to undergraduate students in any major. To be eligible, students must meet the following minimum requirements before departure:
Students must continue to make satisfactory academic progress throughout the application process and during their study abroad program, and otherwise comply with policies and procedures of the host university, IE3 Global, and their home university International Programs Office.

Students live with local Ecuadorian host families in order to best gain exposure to daily life in Quito and to improve their Spanish language skills. Host families are carefully selected and are in frequent communication with the program Resident Director.
Students in Quito are supported by the USFQ International Programs Office (Oficina de Programas Internacionales, OPI). USFQ arranges and oversees homestay placements, runs a comprehensive on site orientation, provides academic and administrative support to all international students and informs students of USFQ arranged field trip options.

The program fee includes academic and administrative fees, room and board (includes two meals per day), on-site support, orientation expenses, group activities, and health and accident insurance.
The program fee does not include airfare, visa expenses, campus-based fees and personal expenses such as local transportation, textbooks, laundry, recreation (including travel), personal supplies and incidental expenses.
