Almost all courses offered at Ewha are open to exchange and visiting students. Graduate students can also take graduate courses with permission of the professor. Ewha’s Korean language program offers classes at five different levels from beginner to advanced.

In addition, Ewha offers a broad range of 100-200 level courses taught in English, including topics in Korean Studies, Asian Studies, Art & Design, Art History, Asian Studies, Business, Economics, Geography, Ideology and Culture, International Studies, Literature, Media Studies, Music, Politics, Psychology, Religion, Social Welfare, Sociology, Women’s Studies, and more.

Graduate students may also take graduate courses offered in English by the Graduate School of International Studies (with permission from the respective professors), English language courses offered by Ewha’s International Cyber University (ICU), as well as regular Ewha courses taught in Korean.

This program is open to undergraduate students in any major. To be eligible, students must meet the following minimum requirements before departure:

  • 45 college credits minimum (at least sophomore standing)
  • Institutional GPA of 2.75 or above

There is no language requirement.

Students must continue to make satisfactory academic progress throughout the application process and during their study abroad program, and otherwise comply with policies and procedures of the host university, IE3 Global, and their home university International Programs Office. If you do not meet the minimum eligibility requirements, please consult with your home campus contact person before applying.

Ewha’s International House accommodates students from around the world. The residence hall offers both single and double rooms. All rooms have central heating and air conditioners and are equipped with internet access. The International House provides a number of facilities and services for students’ convenience, including a computer lab, exercise room, convenience store, and kitchenette. Many students have made video tours of the residence building and neighborhood available on Youtube.

The larger campus complex includes a bookstore, movie theater, numerous cultural facilities, and an eco-park. The surrounding neighborhood is one of the most popular shopping districts in Seoul, with affordable clothing stores and restaurants catering to the university population.

Ewha offers a dedicated Office of International Affairs that provide orientation and ongoing support for international students. The office matches incoming foreign students with an Ewha Peace Buddy, volunteer students who act as cultural informants and can help newcomers adjust and navigate to Korean university and culture. The Office of International Affairs also hosts cultural activities, including walking tours, happy hours, cooking classes, and festival trips.

Ewha has a counseling center that can arrange for an English-speaking counselor to help assist students with any concerns.

The program fee includes academic and administrative fees, orientation expenses, on-site support, and health and accident insurance. The program fee does not include airfare, room and board, visa expenses, campus-based fees and personal expenses such as local transportation, textbooks, laundry, recreation (including travel), personal supplies and incidental expenses.
