UN Women is a learning and advocacy organization fostering networks and linkages that contribute to women’s empowerment, policy reform, and gender sensitive development. UN Women provides technical support to governments and promotes dialogue between governments and women’s organizations.
The UN Women Andean Regional Office supports programs in Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela and Bolivia, largely through small grants, training, conferences and publications. A priority focus is on Women’s Economic and Social Rights, but also Governance and Women’s Leadership and on Ending Violence Against Women and Women’s Human Rights. The Office funds and monitors numerous projects related to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural rights, and others.
