A group of four interns will be working together, along with an Actuality Media Production Manager to produce character driven documentary films about local changemakers. Each group will produce one short documentary campaign as well as planning and executing a impact strategy during the course of the internship. Each week of the internship will be devoted to a different stage of the filmmaking process including: research, casting, writing, prep, shooting, editing, and distribution. A student possessing their own laptop and digital camera will be most productive in this process.
The interns will be the primary crew for the production of the films serving as Producer Director, Cinematographer, or Editor as well as having additional responsibilities. Regular briefings and instruction will be provided to the interns at each stage of production, led by the Actuality Media supervisor. The production process will be highly collaborative, with each person involved in every stage to some degree.
Once completed, Actuality Media will finish the films with professional color correction, sound mixing and delivery. Films will be submitted to film festivals and other distribution outlets, as planned in the impact strategy.
