The ITESM (Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey) comprises Mexico’s largest and most diversified private university system, with over 96,000 students on 31 different campuses. The ITESM, Querétaro campus hosts the program.

The ITESM, also called the “Tec” is recognized as a prestigious and high quality institution of higher education. Some of the Tec’s partners in the U.S. include Carnegie Mellon University, UC Berkeley, University of Texas-Austin, and Purdue University.

Students on this program may study at the Querétaro campus of ITESM either for a semester or an academic year. The campus offers Spanish language coursework from basic to advanced levels, a variety of courses designed for incoming international students, and regular university courses in a wide range of disciplines for those with sufficient Spanish language proficiency to enroll.

The ITESM is highly regarded for its Schools of: Business Administration and Finance, Architecture and Design, Health Sciences, Engineering, Humanities and Social Sciences and information Technologies and Electronics.

This program is open to undergraduate students in any major. To be eligible, students must meet the following minimum requirements before departure:

  • sophomore standing
  • an overall GPA of 2.75 or above
  • a minimum of two years of college-level Spanish (or the equivalent)

Students must also make satisfactory academic progress throughout the application process and during their study abroad program, and otherwise comply with policies and procedures of the host university, the IE3 Global, and their home university International Programs Office.

Each ITESM campus has dormitory facilities and family homestay program. Arrangements for housing are made through the ITESM campus international office where you will study. In some locations, you may also arrange your own apartment. Cooking facilities are available in some dormitories. If you live with a homestay family, you will have meals provided Monday through Saturday. Please note that dormitory regulations are rather strict in comparison by Oregon standards.

Throughout your stay, you will receive expert academic and advising support from the ITESM International Office. Students should be prepared to work with ITESM advisors in collaboration with staff on your home campus and at the IE 3 offices in Oregon.

ITESM University – Spring Semester (Study Abroad)

The program fee includes academic fees, pre-departure orientation, insurance, and the estimated cost for full room and board with a local home-stay family. The program fee does not include airfare, visa fees (only required for academic year program), campus-based fees and personal expenses such as local transportation, textbooks, laundry, recreation (including travel), personal supplies and incidental expenses.
