Join the prestigious EducationUSA Advising Center in Estonia to get a taste of the international education field in lovely Tallinn, Estonia. Work with students who are considering traveling to the United States to study as an exchange student. The site of the center, Tallinn, is the safe and modern capital city in this former eastern-bloc country, with millennia of history and a vibrant and growing tourism sector.

Internship Start Dates:

  • Approximately at the start of Fall, Winter, Spring terms

Duration of Internship:

  • 3-6 months

The EducationUSA Advising Center at Tallinn University of Technology opened in April 1993, and it belongs to a network of the 450 United States Government-affiliated educational advising centers worldwide. The center provides current, accurate and unbiased information about accredited U.S. higher education institutions and administers international exams.

The center provides the following services:

  • Information on educational system, accreditation and study opportunities in the United States at all levels (undergraduate, graduate, post-doctoral, non-degree)
  • Consultations on admission requirements, procedures, costs, and fees
  • Information on financial aid and scholarships, short-term courses, and language schools
  • Registration and information on international exams like the TOEFL, SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, LSAT, and more
  • Pre-departure orientation day for students admitted to American universities and colleges
  • Public lectures, group advising sessions, and other promotional/informational activities

Typical internship tasks include the following:

  • Assist the administration and implementation of the English Conversation Club
  • Design promotional materials (PPTs, brochures, posters, etc.)
  • Present and lead in group advising sessions on undergraduate and graduate admissions
  • Act as ambassador of the US culture and promoter of US higher education and US high school education
  • Promote the Tallinn University of Technology and MEKTORY Innovation & Business Center
  • Attend at meetings with visiting staff, embassy officials, and other professionals from varying departments

Academic Background:

  • All majors may apply. Interns with a background and experience in international relations, marketing, communications, student affairs, non-profit organizations, and education are encouraged to apply.

Skills/Experience:

  • Interns are expected to demonstrate responsibility, professional motivation, flexibility, and effective communication skills.

Language Requirements

  • English is the language of communication. Interns must be capable of written and spoken communication at a near-native level in professional settings.

Visa Requirements:

  • No visa is required for internships under 90 days. Interns must be eligible for a work permit.

Student Housing Option
