Entrepreneurship & Business Administration in Estonia | Tallinn, Estonia

Our partner organization is a part of the only technological university in Estonia, which is the flagship of Estonian engineering and technology education. As a part of the Tallinn University of Technology, the Mektory works with established companies, university students and faculty, schoolchildren, and start-up companies. The Mektory values internationalization and diversity, because success is dependent on combining different cultures, working habits, ideas and interesting solutions. Bring your knowledge and experience of business innovation to Tallinn to help local companies move their ideas forward and learn all about starting your own business.

Some example intern tasks include:

  • Mentor start-up companies
  • Find and map suitable investors, funds, and companies to support TTU Mektory Startup activities
  • Organize start-up lectures, programs, and events (STARTERtech program)
  • Administer start-up coffee mornings
  • Develop better start-up incubation activities to TTU Mektory Centre
  • Contribute an outside entrepreneurial mindset

Additionally you will have unique exposure to:

  • Start-up and business development topics - how to build a start-up?
  • Analyze the business development and start-up ecosystem in Estonia.

Academic Background:

  • Interns with a background and experience in business, entrepreneurship, communications, education, engineering, and marketing are encouraged to apply.

Skills/Experience:

  • Interns are expected to demonstrate responsibility, professional motivation, flexibility, and effective communication skills.

Language Requirements:

  • English is the language of communication. Interns must be capable of written and spoken communication at a near-native level in professional settings.

Visa Requirements:

  • No visa is required for internships under 90 days. Interns must be eligible for a work permit.

  • International Travel: $1,200
  • Visa Fees: $100*

Estimated Monthly Expenses

  • Housing: $375 - $575
  • Food: $300
  • Local Transportation: $25
  • Utilities, Phone, Internet: $190

*Fee amounts are calculated with an exchange rate from European Euro at the time of posting.

Past interns have been eligible for a $200/month stipend (pre-taxes). However, this stipend is subject to funding availability and visa regulations.

Student Housing Option

Host site can assist in arranging housing at the host university.

Independent Housing

Interns arrange their own housing.
