Located in southern Brazil’s on Santa Catarina Island, this NGO hosts interns interested in animal husbandry, ecotourism, and fieldwork related to the conservation of the neotropical otter and its ecology. Interns support otters in captivity by assisting with feeding, handling, environmental enrichment and behavioral studies, as well as in their natural habitats by observing and collecting data on hiking and kayaking excursions.
This organization provides leadership in education, research and the responsible use of natural resources in the tropics. Interns will support the research, environmental sustainability, eco-tourism, and educational projects that take place at one of their biological stations and botanical gardens near San Vito, Costa Rica.
The primary focus of this site is on sea turtle conservation, including locating and monitoring nests and collecting data on sea turtles in the ocean. Interns also participate in conservation efforts related to marine birds, sharks, rays, and more, and engage with the local fishing community on topics of environmentalism and sustainability.
