Internships Down Under (IDU) conducts a thorough interview process to ensure a successful match between you and your internship placement. IDU maintains a varied portfolio of internships including past placements in the following areas:
Public School Education – Gain classroom teaching and management experience at a public school with a diverse group of students, including many first-generation Australians. Practice developing and implementing individualized learning plans for students, participate in weekly professional teacher training, and work in one of 12 language-based classrooms and excursions including camps.
Education Event Planning – Support an independent, non-denominational school as they plan and produce a festival. Interns will communicate with artists, guests, VIP and sponsors, organize logistics, create strategies and more. If there is a specific area that the intern is interested in, the school is able to assist them in learning that skill.
Non-Profit Event Management – Contribute and develop skills across all parts of event planning and management with this company that has raised and donated over $95 million for leading charities, community groups, schools and sporting clubs since 1997. Interns will receive training on and develop the following skills, for example: prospecting new events and clients for the company, retain existing clients and partners, detailed event planning alongside experienced international event managers, monitoring contracts to present these results to the board of directors, and managing post-event operations including stock control, payment & invoice follow up, & results reporting.

“Something I value about my time in this internship so far is that each day I feel like I am learning something new. That is important to me because being exposed to new people, business, and information is how I am going to shape my vision of how I want to build my career. The projects I have completed so far have been diverse and real world applicable, which I have enjoyed.”
