Grants & Scholarships

While an IE3 Global program is very affordable compared to other international education options, students can alleviate the cost further by applying for additional funding in the form of grants and scholarships. Options include:

The IE3 Global Scholarship

Apply NowThe IE3 Global Scholarship is presented to highly-qualified applicants to IE3 Global study abroad and internship programs who have financial need. This scholarship is in the form of a $500 - $1500 program fee reduction. To be eligible for this scholarship, you must have a complete application for an IE3 Global program, as well as a scholarship application. To apply, follow this link or click the button to the right.

Award Eligibility

The IE3 Global Scholarship is available to currently enrolled degree-seeking students who have a completed IE3 Global application.  Unfortunately, our faculty-led IE3 Global programs (Havana, Akita PBL, and Sicily) do not qualify for the IE3 Global Scholarship.

Award Criteria

Student applicants will be evaluated using the following criteria:

  • Financial Need. Based on financial information from the scholarship application and program cost information as well as a student essay describing need.
  • Potential for Success. Relevance of the study program to the applicant's academic, professional and personal goals and the importance of international experience to academic/career aspirations.
  • Program Representation. IE3 Global also seeks to have scholarship recipients be representative and inclusive of our campus partners comprised of public and private institutions within the Northwestern United States, the range of study options available, and the diversity of backgrounds from which students come.
  • Academic Performance. Based on student's transcripts, academic references and other evidence of academic strength.

Application Deadlines

Scholarship deadlines (Late applications are not considered.):

  • Internship programs beginning Summer term: February 15
  • Study Abroad programs beginning Summer term:  March 15
  • Programs beginning Fall: May 1
  • Programs beginning Winter: October 1
  • Programs beginning Spring: December 1

Late applications will not be considered. Applicants will be notified of the scholarship committee's decision approximately 4-6 weeks after the deadline has passed.
