Instituto Ekko Brasil (IEB) is a non-governmental organization established in 2004 whose main objective is to study, support and conserve various otter species in Brazil.

IEB’s principal Otter Project, located in southern Brazil’s Florianópolis, hosts interns interested in helping with fieldwork and data collection related to Neotropical Otter conservation. The Otter Project has a licensed Scientific Breeding Sanctuary, which houses the orphans of otters that cannot be released back into the wild.

IEB also offers the opportunity to work with Giant Otters in a small town within the incredibly bio-diverse Pantanal of Brazil – over 2,000 kilometers from the site in Florianópolis. The Giant Otter project supports the conservation of the boisterous and diurnal Giant Otter through research and fieldwork.
