In the spring and summer, interns work with Jampa Ling’s management team to produce organically grown fruit, vegetables and flowers for the retreat center. This is an opportunity for students interested in the planning and maintenance of an organic garden to gain hands-on experience of growing techniques and garden production.
All year round, interns can work with the team to design organic vegetarian menus and cooks the meals for the residents and visitors of the Center.
Centered in a large Victorian house called Owendoon, Jampa Ling is situated in thirteen acres of meadow, woodland and gardens, and borders a lake. Housing and board are provided at the retreat center, and interns will benefit greatly from the serenity and beauty of the retreat center and it’s surroundings.
Jampa Ling can be found at: http://www.jampaling.org.
Interns may also pair this internship with the one at Asral, Jampa Ling’s NGO in Mongolia. At Asral, interns work on a sustainable food production project, aiding local people in providing healthy food for themselves and their families. Interns could spend some time at Jampa Ling in Ireland, and then take the skills they develop there to aid struggling families in Mongolia.
